Whenever I hear about art history, it makes me wonder, How in heaven have people over the centuries decided not only what is art but also how has the history of "art" been curated and defined and dare I say valued. What makes a work of art worth a million dollars in some one's eyes, and viewed with distain by someone else ? I do not mean to offend those who have studied and teach art history but it seems to me that there can not be any consensus of what is beauty or what is of value when it comes to creativity. Auction houses of course will always have customers But for me the story behind each and every grain of art reveals an intersection of politics, perception, ideology and even greed.
