As a researcher, Dr. Calhoun uses Implementation Science to improve outcomes for patients with sickle cell disease across their lifespan. During, the month of September, which has been designated as National Sickle Cell Awareness Month, we take time to educate ourselves about the disease and discuss what we can do to help advance developments around this disease.
