One Image-Two Interpretations

Consider this image to be a collection of data points that we all agree on, in that we all agree that we all see an image. And yet when we strive to "interpret" and "describe" to another this image further, I might describe an old lady and you might describe a young lady. When you read the opinion and the dissenting opinion in the recent supreme court affirmative action decision, both sides essentially agree on the history but one side sees in my opinion "a rose colored pseudo optimistic reality" while the "minority" dissenting opinion sees the landscape to still be treacherous, dangerous and requiring at the very least minimal equal opportunity safeguards and protection from those who might be dare I say it be operating blindly or from those who might have just shed their white robes for black robes.
