For IMMEDIATE RELEASE:   Media Contact Morriarscdaa.sc@gmail,com 203-859-5355 James Rawlings, CEO & President of SCDAA.CT/ Michelle's House   The Board of Directors and those impacted with Sickle Cell Disease and other stakeholders will host a press conference on October 6th at 12 noon at the Firehouse’s Headquarters at 952 Grand Ave, New Haven at 12 noon to express our concerns with the New Haven Fire Department's Union leadership not supporting our long-standing commitment under the previous leadership for our Sickle Cell Community through their support of our Annual Community Boot Drive. The ability to continue to meet the inherent needs of our Sickle Cell Community has been diminished since critical financial support has been withdrawn by the Fire Departments Union leadership. This financial support via the New Haven Fire Department gave your SCDAA/Michelle’s House, the ability to continue to meet the critical needs of: Driving awareness Our new Sickle Cell Trait testing Program Supporting our most vulnerable families and children suffering from Sickle Cell Disease WHO: Board of Directors, SCDAA.CT/Michelle's House Dr. Sharon C.
