Let's remind legislators what's at stake in the budget |
|
Hello Tom, For the past two Wednesdays, grassroots advocates have shown up at the Capitol to talk to legislators about protecting funds in the budget to create an Office of Gun Violence Prevention. The state urgently needs to create the capacity to support community-based gun violence reduction programs to address gun homicides that are at a 25-year high. Please join us for our final Lobby Day at the Capitol on Wednesday, April 27. We'll be there from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Click here to RSVP if you haven't already. Also, we're holding an Advocacy Training Session for members of the Blue Hills Civic Association, and they have kindly extended an invitation for anyone to join. We'll start promptly at 9:30am in Room 1C of the Legislative Office Building. Join us for the entire session, or come by 10:00am for the Lobby Day briefing, also in Room 1C. If you've never participated in one of our Lobby Days, please be assured we'll be right by your side to make your advocacy successful. Our Lobby Day Guide, and on-site briefing, offer a step-by-step explanation of the process, where to park and what to expect during the day. If you haven't signed up already, please click here to let us know if can join us on April 27, from 10am to 4pm or for whatever amount of time you can spare during the day. Thanks for all you do to make Connecticut safer from gun violence, Terra & Jonathan Outreach Director & Communications Director CT Against Gun Violence |
