Listening Session About Gun Violence in New Haven

Hello New Haven Community members

The CT Against Gun Violence Education Fund (CAGV Ed Fund) is working with the City of New Haven to help it develop plans for an Office of Gun Violence Prevention. An important part of the project is learning directly from New Haven residents about how gun violence is affecting their communities.

To gather that information, you are invited to take part in a Community Listening Session for all residents on April 7, 2022, from 6:30 to 8 PM at the newly opened Q-House gymnasium 197 Dixwell Avenue New Haven, CT 06511. Light refreshments will be served. To keep everyone safe from COVID, masks will be required in the building.

Registration is required, click here to register.

At the 90-minute session, you’ll be invited to share your knowledge, expertise, and experience about gun violence in your neighborhood, how it affects you, your friends and your family, and the rest of the community. Just as important, you’ll be asked to share your thoughts about what should be done to end gun violence in New Haven. The session will be led by Sean Reeves, Outreach and Community Engagement Coordinator with the CAGV Ed Fund. Sean is a 10-year survivor of gun homicide, and a long-time advocate for keeping New Haven youth safe from gun violence.

Members of the community who attend the session will receive a $25 gift card for their participation. For more information, please contact Sean at sean@cagv.org, or call or text him at 203.928.8708.

You have an important voice in making New Haven a safer city for all, we hope you will join the Community Listening Session.
