Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. San Diego Alumnae Chapter Black History Essay Contest
The Black History Essay Contest is one of the chapter's signature events. Each year, students in schools across San Diego County submit essays on black history in recognition of Black History Month and the many contributions that African-Americans have made in our country. Essays are scored according to a rubric and ranked in categories among elementary, middle, and high school participants. Contest winners are recognized at a virtual community event where they are invited to read their essays. Participants may receive research and writing support. This year, they are adding a digital essay option and can't wait to see what participants come up with! |
