The people of Surmas – also known as Suris – live in the valley of the Omo River in southern Ethiopia, 600 km from Addis Ababa, near the border with Sudan.
This tribe excels in body paint and plant ornaments. Men, women, children, they use their bodies and hairstyles of flowers and leaves to express with ancestral artistic sensitivity their constant search for beauty.
