The New Haven Free Public Library is looking for stars!
From Samantha Bailey "I'm a librarian at the New Haven Free Public Library - we're now recruiting performers, artists, and special talents for a talent exhibition program. Adults are encouraged to apply online through our Google Form for recruitment intake. If you know of someone who needs assistance applying online, have them call the library and we can fill the form out for them (203) 946-8130.
For the program, we'll feature three performers a month and feature their headshot and information on our promotional materials and record their performance to host on our YouTube channel. This could be a great opportunity for stage time and to have a performance recorded for something like a portfolio, or, just to share with family and friends.
Each performer will have 30 minutes of time on stage, we will assist with an introduction, and have any A/V, lighting, or otherwise prepared for the performer as well. The event will run from 6-7:30pm to allow for performers who work a daytime job to arrive. Family, friends, and other contacts with performers are permitted and encouraged to attend. Acts can include dance, live art, vocals, improv, short film screenings, gallery displays, etc. Almost anything is fair game - just ask!
Recruitment will continue until March 24th for a performance on April
