Details | Join Health Equity Solutions (HES) for a 75-minute interactive workshop to explore what advocacy is, how it can used as a tool for change, who is an advocate (hint: you!), and when to advocate. We will also discuss how to find your state and U.S. Representatives, discuss different ways our elected officials can help us resolve issues and briefly demonstrate key areas of the CT General Assembly website. About HES: Connecticut is one of the wealthiest states in the United States. It has some of the best doctors and hospitals, and is the health insurance capital of the world. The state is often heralded as being one of the healthiest state, yet, Connecticut also has some of the greatest health disparities of in the US. Health Equity Solutions’ mission is to promote policies, programs, and practices that result in equitable health care access, delivery, and outcomes for all people in Connecticut in order to assist every Connecticut resident to attain optimal health regardless of race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status.
