Tell the Board of Zoning Appeals: No Special Exceptions for Planet Venus
A plan to convert a warehouse at 203 Wallace street into a “Las Vegas-style” entertainment complex, including an adult cabaret, requires special zoning exceptions to proceed. The case for these exceptions will be presented to the Board of Zoning Appeals this Tuesday February 8 at 6:30PM. The property is in Ward 8, close to Jocelyn Square Park and the redeveloped Mill River Crossing (formerly Farnam Courts). I oppose this special exception along with Ward 8 Alder Cupo and other Alders representing our neighborhood, given the proprietor’s history of enabling and attracting illegal activity. Our Newhallville neighbors are organizing in opposition to relocation of the APT Foundation’s methadone clinic to 794 Dixwell Avenue, given the organization’s problematic stewardship of other locations in the city. Please learn more and sign the petition here.
