This Black History Month, the White House is taking a moment to celebrate Afro-Latino Heritage.

In case you missed it, last week the White House published a photograph on official Casa Blanca channels spotlighting some of the Afro-Latino appointees in the Administration. As the caption states, we are thankful for their service and their work.

The White House would like to extend an invitation to a Virtual Celebration of Afro-Latino Heritage on Friday, February 25, from 3:30-5:00PM ET. The Virtual Celebration will feature remarks from leaders in and out of the Administration, a performance by a spoken word artist, and panel discussions. Among others, the program will include participation from:

  • Ambassador to Spain Julissa Reynoso
  • Senior Advisor to the President and Director of the Office of Public Engagement Congressman Cedric Richmond
  • Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute President and CEO Marco Davis
  • Senior Advisor for Public Engagement Carissa Smith
  • Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility President and CEO Cid Wilson
  • Spoken word by Melania Luisa Marte
