Dear Friends,
Please join us TOMORROW, March 1st, 7:00 pm Eastern for an exciting conversation about the new Audio Original - The Book of Baraka!
Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was raised in a home filled with poetry and politics—and was torn between the two. His father, Amiri Baraka, was one of the most influential and controversial poets of the 1970s. Mixing prose and poetry, Mayor Baraka tells the tale of how he went from aspiring spoken-word artist to school principal to successful politician, with stories about the fascinating figures he encountered along the way, like Nina Simone and Lauryn Hill—who famously featured him on her debut album.
