Goodbye, Johnny!
This month, Boston Ujima Project says goodbye to Johnny Charles, former Managing Director of the Ujima Fund. During his tenure, Johnny spearheaded the Ujima Fund's growth and led investment activities by extending credit to small business owners and increasing community ownership through the Ujima ecosystem.
We wish Johnny much success and many blessings as he moves through the next phase in his journey!

Nov 29 | How Can Communities Work Together to Acquire and Control Property? with CFNE
Next Monday, November 29 at 6PM, the Cooperative Fund of New Englandwill lead us through an exciting workshop on acquiring and controlling land and property. Housing justice is social justice, but most of us feel powerless to escape the system, much less change it.
From ecovillages to apartment blocks, communities are hard-pressed to establish ownership of land and buildings without resorting to conventions of property and finance that run fundamentally at odds with core values like mutualism and cooperation. This workshop will teach us how we can cooperatively own and operate property together.
The Cooperative Fund of New England (CFNE) is a community development financial institution (CDFI) that serves as a bridge between socially responsible investors and co-operatives, community-oriented non-profits, and worker-owned businesses in New England.
This week, we will not have a workshop or member team meetings. #UjimaWednesdays will resume next week on December 1st, 2021.
Recap: Impact Investing The Game with BII
Last week we held our second workshop, with Boston Impact Initiative, an experiential workshop playing with the Integrated Capital Cards. Check out the full video and notes here.
