Dwight Hall Civic Allyship Initiative

"Can the Family Survive?" A look into the theory and practice of how to keep parent and child bonds intact during incarceration. Wednesday, November 17, 2021 6:00 pm ET via Zoom Register here. This workshop will focus on Landon Osborn’s work supporting families of the incarcerated in New Haven. Landon will discuss the collateral impact of incarceration and the approach used to facilitate and support mentoring and volunteering. Born and raised in New Haven, CT, Landon Osborn received his M.S.W. Degree from the University of Connecticut in 2015 and a B.S. degree from Southern Connecticut State University in 2012. Landon is a Connecticut Licensed Master Social Worker with over 10 years of experience in the non-profit sector along with years of experience working with individuals, families and communities suffering the effects of multi-generational trauma. Landon is a Program Manager for CLICC, a non profit organization that provides services for families impacted by the criminal justice system. Along with CLICC, Landon serves as a Clinician for Reliant Behavioral Health & Community Services based in New Haven, CT, an Adjunct Faculty for the University of Connecticut’s Master of Social Work Program and as a Field Supervisor for social work students at Southern Connecticut State University’s Social Work Program. Additionally, Landon currently sits on the Bereavement Care Network’s advisory committee and Community Action Agency of New Haven’s Advisory and Research Engagement Committee. Landon has a passion for creating change within the lives of all individuals at-risk of oppressive and generational trauma utilizing holistic, micro/macro levels of interventions in order to diffuse disparities within urbanized communities. The Civic Allyship Initiative is a program of Dwight Hall, Yale’s Center for Social Justice and Public Service. In committing to Dwight Hall’s position that New Haven is not Yale’s playground, the program seeks to elevate the existing work and leadership of community organizers. Learn more here.
