Washington, DC- Today, the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. (USBC) launched a new campaign dedicated to putting Black leaders in cabinet positions within the Biden-Harris administration. USBC President Ron Busby released the following statement:
“The U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. is committed to ensuring that representation and opportunity align with the vast amount of talented Black executives and professionals in our nation. To achieve such commitment, we've launched an advocacy campaign to endorse Black professional leaders to official positions in the Biden-Harris administration.
Through the Black Cabinet Members for Biden campaign, we will recommend Black nominees for senior-level positions in the incoming Biden-Harris administration. We will promote suggested nominees through a collection of endorsement letters for the Biden-Harris Transition team.
We are proud to make our first endorsement, with the endorsing of Congresswoman Marcia Fudge as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Congresswoman Fudge is a champion on critical issues that overwhelmingly grip underserved communities such as food security, water and environmental quality, and federal conservation programs.”
