Congo in Harlem is an annual series of films and special events at Maysles Documentary Center, focused on the history, politics, and culture of the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is the flagship event of CONGO WEEK, launched by Friends of the Congo.
Each year we present a diverse program that challenges assumptions and encourages critical thinking, but most importantly, we want people to have fun! Congo in Harlem is more than just movies and discussions -- it's an opportunity to discover Congo's culture, learn about its challenges, and get involved.
This year, our 12th annual program will be presented almost entirely online for FREE! As a volunteer-run, non-profit program, please consider supporting the series through a tax-deductible donation to Maysles Documentary Center. Thank you!
