Exploring a World of Plants

Next week Thursday, September 17, at 5:30 pm we are hosting Yale Professor and Peabody Curator Erika Edwards for a lecture called Natural History in the 21st Century: Botanical Explorations into Mountains, Deserts, Genomes, and Herbaria.

Advances in molecular biology and new visualization tools are bringing clarity to evolutionary questions that have lingered since the days of Darwin. In conversation with fellow Yale Professor Martha Muñoz, Edwards will highlight surprises and delights of botanical exploration in many of the world’s ecosystems—including the sidewalks of New Haven.
