Voting 2020. Absentee ballot applications are being maiedl to all registered voters this week.  If you did not receive one in the mail, you can download and print out an absentee ballot application hereReturn it to the drop box in front of your City Hall right away. Ballots will be mailed after October 2, and should arrive by October 10. Be sure to fill it out carefully, follow all instructions, and sign the inner envelope. Return it as early as possible.  Oct 27 is the deadline to register to vote on-line You can find all the information you need to register to vote or update your registration status here.

Pandemic Unemployment Insurance / Lost Wages Assistance: An additional $300 is being issued. The CT Department of Labor posts updates as they become available on the CTDOL Federal Supplements webpage

Rent and Mortgage Assistance:  To be covered by the CDC eviction moratorium until December 31, 2020, tenants must submit a signed declaration to their landlord. The CDC Declaration can be found here.  The CT eviction moratorium has been extended to October 1st.  The Temporary Housing Assistance Program is accepting applications for rent relief. Temporary Mortgage Assistance (T-MAP) Program is also available. Food to Immigrant Families  - Semilla Collective of New Haven.distributes boxes of food to hundreds of low income families in quarantine in their homes or wary of accessing food banks because of immigration status.

SNAP Additional SNAP benefits to nearly half of Connecticut’s SNAP participants  Food Assistance - SNAPIf you lost power and suffered food loss during Hurricane Isaias, you can get replacement benefits. Meals to Children - The Ct Department of Education and End Hunger Connecticut offer free meals to children throughout the summer. Connecticut’s 400+ meal sites offer combinations of breakfast, lunch, supper, and snacks to kids and teens ages 18-and-under - no ID or proof-of-need required. To find a site near you, click here

CT Youth Employment Program. CT has released $2 million from the Coronavirus Relief Funds to expand the Connecticut Youth Employment Program, contact the nearest regional workforce development board for more information.

CT AFL-CIO: The Am I Safe At Work website fundamental information to empower workers to identify key COVID-19 risks in our workplaces, provides tools to join together with co-workers for better safety protections, and guides workers on how to contact a union to help negotiate with an employer for safer working conditions
