New Haveners support Sierra Leone’s battle against COVID-19
Representatives from the Freetown-New Haven Sister Cities program, the Amistad Committee, and the Gilder Lehrman Center’s Shared Histories program met with New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker at the Amistad Memorial to present funds for COVID relief to Mohammed Barrie, the Honorary Consul for the Republic of Sierra Leone. The three New Haven organizations raised $3,600, which was matched by the City of New Haven.
