Connecticut Bats, Uniting to Save Our Schools, and RACCE held an Educators/Parents Talking Zoom Meeting about their concerns with CT Go Back to School Fall plan.
Willimantic, New Haven, Hartford, New London, and West Hartford. We discuss the CDC levels of risk for going back to school. 1. No risk, 2. More Risk and 3. High Risk. Every single one of them has severe safety and equity concerns about the Governor's plan. If we were to grade the Governor and the Commissioner on their go back plan? It would be an F.
Missing critical specific failures to provide single equitable state safety guidelines. We feel the plan would lead to Black and Brown Communities and there teachers at higher risk levels than affluent White Communities.

Protecting Connecticut Children, Families, and teachers should not be poor communities must live with higher health risks. This is a Pandemic crisis requiring crisis funding, not some districts you are on your own, and we understand school districts need lots of feasibility wiggle room.
