It is with great anticipation and joy we write to you on the occasion of our 50th year anniversary! This email is to provide you with details related to our upcoming celebration and share recent happenings in the YBS community.
The past 50 years of Black seminarians at Yale Divinity School encompasses the story of past and recent YBS members. It is time that we gather together to acknowledge our challenges, share our legacy, and celebrate our victories.

YBS Updates 2019-2020
YBS celebrated Black History Month with special chapel services led by YBS members in Marquand Chapel.
YDS sponsored 22 YBS members for the 2020 Samuel Dewitt Proctor Conference in Crystal City, VA this January 2020. YBS Alumni pictured here at a lunch hosted by YBS.
Andover Newton Seminary at YDS traveled to Kenya in January 2020. After a semester learning about Kenya’s religious and socio-political history, the group had 10 days of sacred encounter. While there, current students caught up with two YBS alums, Reginald Lee Bachus '09 M.Div. and Brittany Erin Bachus '18 M.A.R..

Yale Divinity School and YBS celebrate Lynn Sullivan, recently hired Director of Equity and YBS Advisor. Ms. Sullivan has a 20-year career as a senior administrator at independent schools in NY and CT. She started in August 2019 and continues to offer support and guidance to YBS and YDS students alike.
