The League of National Bike 2020 Summit

Updates on our progress towards creating a more Bicycle Friendly America.
Tom,

How did League board member Beth St. John go from "a cycling advocate in waiting" to wanting to "motivate and mobilize an army of cycling advocates"? Meeting the hundreds of advocates plus "founders and representatives from Black Girls Do Bike, the American Women’s Cycling Network, and Cycling Without Age" at the National Bike Summit inspired her to get more involved with the League to have a bigger impact on making biking better. Read more about Beth's Summit story here »

» a live podcast taping with The War on Cars
» the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety will demonstrate how it tests cars' automatic emergency braking
» sessions presented by bike advocates like you covering topics ranging from engineering better streets to encouraging more women to bike
» an interactive outdoor Secret Traffic Garden with activities and speakers throughout the Summit
» a number of bike ride options presented by the DC Cycling Concierge
» it's cliche, but so much more! We hope you can join us there for the planned (and unplanned!) fun

Our first cohort of new League Cycling Instructors is hitting the streets around Sunnyvale, California. These instructors can now teach Smart Cycling classes, among other curricula, to empower bicyclists of all abilities with skills like the Avoidance Weave and Quick Stop. While we hope to design communities where these will be rarely needed, in the meantime they are important skills for people of all abilities who bike!
Learn more about becoming an LCI, discover upcoming seminars in your area, or find local advocacy groups hosting Smart Cycling classes on on our website »
