Dear Tom,
Happy New Year! Thank you for your interest in child-centered, curiosity-driven learning at Slate School. We hope that you will be available to join us on Thursday, January 16th, at 6:00pm, for a conversation about "Honoring Childhood Through Play," with Jane Aronson, who is Founder of Worldwide Orphans. Slate School's 3rd Thursday Conversations is a forum for discussing interesting and timely ideas with experts in a variety of fields.
Jane Aronson is a pediatrician, adoption medicine specialist, and the Founder and CEO of Worldwide Orphans, a nonprofit organization that provides direct services to orphans and at-risk children throughout the world, including in Bulgaria, Ethiopia, Haiti, the United States and Vietnam. She is an expert on play, has curated Toy Libraries in communities domestically and internationally, and she also developed an Element of Play® curriculum. She has received many awards for her work, including CNN's Champions for Change, Glamour Woman of the Year, and two World of Children Awards.
We look forward to having Jane join us next Thursday evening, and we hope to see you then, too! Advanced RSVP is required for this free, limited-capacity event, and availability is on a first come, first served reservation basis.
Best regards,
Jennifer Staple-Clark and Julie Mountcastle
