August 8, 2019, New Haven, CT - New Haven Public Schools announces its Back to School Rally to Promote School Attendance and Support Families with Community Resources and School Supplies.
Saturday, August 10, 2019—10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Floyd Little Athletic Center 480 Sherman Parkway New Haven
Over 1200 families are expected to attend the City’s annual back to school Rally which has been the hallmark kickoff of the NHPS back to school season.
New Haven Public Schools in collaboration with WYBC get students and families ready for the upcoming school year by distributing thousands of free backpacks and school supplies to New Haven families promoting the importance of school attendance.
This event aims to bolster excitement around the upcoming opening of school, links families to community resources, gives parents the opportunity to meet and greet school administrators and provide families and students with needed supplies and resources.
The back-to-school rally will also feature fun activities for children and adults including a basketball clinic, a rock-climbing wall and a kindergarten corner with books and giveaways for students in the early grades.
