According to spiritual teacher and author of Falling into Grace, Adyashanti, our heart is more than an emotive center; it is a perceptual center capable of seeing the unity of existence.
Adyashanti refers to this part of our being as "the spiritual heart," and further, that we can train in practices that enable us to attune to the perceptual capacities of this subtle center.
In this podcast, Adya (as his friends and students call him) teaches us two introductory practices for seeing with the spiritual heart.
We also talked about:
- How our greatest challenges and greatest revelations always have to do with the heart
- The discovery of the strength and courage of the heart along with its vulnerability and tenderness
- Encountering the great unknown, and how to work skillfully with the fear that can sometimes accompany such an encounter
- The act of "self-giving" and the fulfillment that comes when we devote our lives to something bigger than ourselves.
