Our thanks to Sasha Turner for finishing off Students for Educational Justice’s Spring Speakers Series on African American History and Culture. The subject of Professor Turner’s talk was ‘“My body is an argument I did not start’: The Black Body in History.”
Students for Educational Justice is a student-led New Haven activist organization calling for the teaching of a "History of Race and The History of Racism in the United States” in Connecticut’s high school curriculum, required racial bias trainings for social studies teachers and administrators, and the creation of a curriculum-building and oversight committee.
