Chuck Cooper To Be Enshrined in HOF!

BREAKING: Charles "Chuck" Cooper was announced this past weekend as an inductee into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame for its Class of 2019! Cooper was the first African American player ever to be drafted by the NBA, in 1950 when the Boston Celtics selected him in the second round. This is a tremendous and well-deserved recognition for the pioneering Pittsburgh native who starred at Duquesne University and with the Harlem Globetrotters before joining the NBA. It's also a wonderful local success story for the Iron City. Cooper, who was on our "Most Deserving" list for recognition by the Naismith HOF, was previously enshrined in the Duquesne University Sports Hall of Fame.
