Mayor Ganim Appoints New Staff Member As Community Liaison
Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Joe Ganim today has appointed Carolyn Vermont as a new member of his staff to take on the role of Mayoral Aide, Community Liaison.   Carolyn Vermont is a longtime resident and community activist in the Bridgeport community.  Her commitment and dedication to non-profits and under-served children’s organizations are known throughout the region.  “Carolyn is a true supporter and activist for the most vulnerable in our city,” said Mayor Ganim. “Her extensive knowledge of the city along with her passion and devotion to children’s and community services make Carolyn a valuable team member to serve in this role for my administration.”

For the past three years, Carolyn Vermont has served as Director of Urban Initiatives for Connecticut Against Gun Violence. Over the last year and a half, she has facilitated meetings for Bridgeport Community Collaborative For Youth which entailed meetings with Mayor Ganim, Chief Perez and community stakeholders regarding issues affecting the Bridgeport community. She has held managerial and consultant positions for various nonprofit organizations throughout Fairfield County, these include ABCD, Inc., United Way, RYASAP, and INROADS to name a few.  Carolyn is the President of the Rotary Club of Bridgeport and has served on many boards and commissions throughout the area.   She volunteers for numerous organizations and has received many accolades.  She was recognized as a Changemaker at the 2016 White House Summit on the United State of Women in Washington, DC.  Carolyn received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Fairfield University.

Congratulations to Carolyn. Wanted to mention she was also past President of the Bridgeport NAACP. A great Leader. Mayor Ganim made an awesome decision. One of Bridgeport's most influential Blacks.
