May 19th, 2015-April 4th, 2018- From Mecca to the Mountaintop

Needless to say on May 19, 2015 there were not a many 50 year memorials and affirmations. Yet when you compare the public comments of the husband's of Betty Shabazz and Coretta King for just the two years leading up to their respective deaths, the synergy, common bonds and common hopes and dare I say common strategies were clear for those who wanted to see. International unification, economic liberation, pride and belief in self determination are just a few of the crystal clear examples. Dare I remind ourselves that upon the return from Mecca, one spoke of all men to be brothers. The night before the other's state sanctioned murder, boycotting , exerting selective black buying power and occupying Washington in the spring was being planned. Perhaps such visions were crystal clear to those who recognized the "danger" to their continued aspirations and profit making.
