Community Healing Network: New Year, New Strategies

Subject: New Year, New Strategies

Dear Friends of CHN:

Happy 2018! We hope this note finds you well.

We are looking forward to an exciting year, and we want to thank you again for supporting us in our quest to build a world in which "Black people everywhere have moved beyond surviving to flourishing, and are enjoying life in all its fullness -- in body, mind, and spirit."

We are off and running with new strategies to scale up CHN's operations this year. In 2018-2019, we will be taking our Valuing Black Lives Global Emotional Emancipation Summit to local communities. We'll be presenting neighborhood Emotional Emancipation Retreats, workshops for community-based organizations, and Community Healer Awards in cities across the country--and abroad. We're working on creating a brand-new website and new resources and tools to intensify the movement for emotional emancipation.

Over the next few months, we'll be sharing more details about our movement-building plans. We look forward to your feedback and, of course, your active involvement.

It's going to be a great year for CHN as we move toward August 2019, the 400th anniversary of the forced arrival of Africans in the colony of Virginia in the United States.

That is the date by which CHN is working to engage a critical mass of Black people in the journey toward emotional emancipation, so that by the year 2020, we as a people will begin to see ourselves in a whole new light.

Sincerely,
Enola Aird, Founder and President, CHN
