Message from Mayor Harp

Tom --

I want to thank each and every one of you who have worked so hard since we started this campaign.

I especially want to acknowledge all the volunteers, the Board of Alders, my staff and most importantly the people of New Haven who took time to come to the polls despite the many responsibilities you have throughout the day.

Our country has felt so divided over the last few months, I don't want our community to experience the same.

I'm glad that you all rejected the disparaging characterization of our great city and our hard working people.

Division is exhausting and counterproductive. And frankly, I know we're all just sick of it.

It's time to come together and focus on what really matters - making sure our communities are thriving.

New Haven is one of the top cities in New England and throughout the country. Our city is that way because of its diversity, its driven leaders, its fearless innovative young people, its students and businesses who fight everyday for our progress.

My focus from now through November and beyond will be to continue making great strides on projects such as Downtown Crossing and the Hill to Downtown Community Plan. We're laying the groundwork and infrastructure to connect our neighborhoods, upgrading and improving our schools, strengthening our Youth Stat program, helping our businesses develop and succeed, and protecting our most vulnerable populations by keeping our city a sanctuary.

Together we will continue to build bridges not walls.

I'm honored that you placed confidence in me and I will continue to work everyday conscientiously as I have over the past 30 years to earn your trust.

I am deeply grateful and honored for the faith you have in my experience and my ability to unite people as we navigate together through these challenging times.

Thank you New Haven for believing in me and believing in our work together.

I will see you tomorrow!

Mayor Toni N. Harp

Tom,
Thank you for always giving us the facts. The truth is Mayor Harp does understand how important we are as people. New Haven will never have perfect politics. Mayor Harp does actually listen and hear concerns. We have to be patient and keep her there to continue what she needs to do as one person first. Please vote everyone!
