What: The Women’s March Connecticut-We March On & Housatonic Community College Women’s Center is sponsoring the Fairfield County Forum to sustain the momentum from the Women’s March on Washington. All residents of Fairfield County and beyond are invited to attend the organizing forum. The purpose of this forum is to connect civic-minded individuals intent on fighting for progress at the local, state, and national level with organizations already hard at work around those causes. The forum aims to provide Connecticut residents with a direct connection to individuals and groups working on issues dealing with reproductive rights, climate change, equal pay, civil liberties, gun violence prevention, criminal justice reform, or other opportunities for advocacy or volunteerism.

Women’s March Connecticut-We March On is organized by a group of 25 diverse volunteer Connecticut women who organized buses to Washington D.C. for the Women's March on Washington on January 21st. The group is working to sustain the momentum from the March to keep Connecticut women and men engaged.

About the Women’s March on Washington: The Women’s March on Washington, held on January 21st in Washington, D.C., intends to send a bold message to the incoming Presidential administration on their first day in office, to leadership in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate, Governors and state Congresses, and to the world, that we stand together in solidarity and expect elected leaders to act to protect the rights of women, their families and their communities. The March is led by a national coordinating committee, volunteer organizers representing all 50 states, and numerous partner organizations. Partners include Amnesty International, EMILY’s List, GLAAD, Girls Who Code, Muslim Women’s Alliance, Planned Parenthood, United We Dream, and many more.
