Free Hidden Figures Screening for New Haven Students and Teachers Registration, Sat, Feb 11, 2017 at 1:30 PM | Eventbrite:

"DESCRIPTION What: In recognition of underrepresented minorities in STEM and in celebration of Black History Month, the Black Student Alliance at Yale (BSAY), Yale Pathways to Science, and SheCode are excited to present a FREE screening of Hidden Figures for local public school students and teachers. The screening will take place at New Haven’s Bow Tie Criterion Cinema on Saturday 2/11 at 1:30pm, and will be followed by a panel discussion hosted by women of color working in STEM fields. Attendees will receive free admission to the movie, a free snack and drink, and a free copy of the book that inspired the film! This event is a fantastic opportunity for girls and future scientists to see themselves represented in STEM both onscreen and off. Who: We are strongly encouraging the participation of African American girls and teachers from local New Haven public schools. Each family is eligible to register for 1 or 2 free tickets. Hosted by: The Black Student Alliance at Yale, SheCode, Yale Pathways to Science, Dwight Hall and the Afro-American Cultural Center at Yale Sponsored by: The Yale Computer Science Department, Office of New Haven and State Affairs, Yale School of Engineering & Applied Science, The Yale International Relations Association, and Yale College Council (Note: Convenient discount parking is available directly across the street in the Temple St. Garage.)"
