In other recent New Haven Promise News:

• Two weeks ago Promise hosted its 4th annual internship fair at the Lanman Center at Yale's Payne Whitney Gymnasium. More than 200 scholars attended and we expect more than 100 paid summer internships this year.

• The application deadline for the high school Class of 2017 is fast approaching. Current seniors have just 10 more days to complete the application as it will officially close at midnight on Jan. 27.

• About 600 scholars will receive Promise funding to attend in-state institutions this year. They are expected to receive about $2.4 million in Promise funds and more than $4 million in combination of Promise funds, federal grants and summer internship income.
