Social Justice at Southern Connecticut State University: "The Color of Trust: Policing Diverse Communities
November 14, 2016, 6:00pm - 8:00pm

American policing is in crisis. This crisis is systemic, economic, structural, and linked to racism, classism, and the militarization of even small police forces. This panel will offer avenues of inquiry and expression from and for the communities most affected, (i.e., poor, racialized, and those suffering from mental health issues) while attempting to unpack the apparent shift in policing from an ethos of "Protect and Serve" to a dictum of "Comply or Die."
