It is perhaps the greatest marketing and public relations methodology ever unleashed upon it's citizens. I am talking about the american historian industry and the american educational system.
How is it that we quickly forget the a sitting president spied upon fellow systems and stole until caught and was impeached?
How is it that we forget that a president was shot and killed in Dallas ?
How is it that we forget that a president was shot and killed in Ford's Theatre?
How is it that we forget that a segregationist by the name of Strom Thurmond ran for president in 1948?
How is it that we forget that a segregationist ran for president in 1968?
How is it that we forget that the president elect in 1860 was elected with less than 40% of the vote?
How is that more Americans voted for Al Gore for president and yet he did not become president?
A friend of mine mentioned recently on facebook that he was embarrassed to be an American.
I ask my good friend to pick a date at anytime since 1776 and tell me why there were not numerous reasons to be embarrassed to be an american.
Today is no different.
The american historian industry and the educational system has been from inception one of the most sophisticated marketing mythos and public relations endeavors ever.
How is it that after fighting to stop the incineration of the jewish people and "winning the war" , enlisted blacks still were encased in segregated units?
How is it that we fail to understand and accept that to be an american means that you are part of a legacy that is often times, most times, every time challenging to salute !
