God and white men at Yale- Calhoun Then, Calhoun Today, Calhoun Forever ?

I am not suggesting that there is any connection between the naming and bestowing Southern honor in 1933 upon the legacy of John C. Calhoun and these academic sympathies preceding the Yale Corporation decision noted below. Nor am I suggesting that the early rise of Hitler across the pond and the glorification of a white supremacist on these shores bears a  timely correlation but it does make you wonder as to why in 1931 was a person retrieved from the dark and dusty bin of history ?
In the 1920s, leading thinkers including the greatest economist America ever produced focused their efforts on eugenics, preserving the Nordic stock, and the problem of race suicide.
