Professor Kathleen Cleaver "Police are Not Heroes", with the Yale Political Union & The Black Student Alliance at Yale, Tuesday March 8th, 7:30 pm













Join the Yale Political Union and the Black Student Alliance at Yale on Tuesday at 7:30 in Sudler Hall for a debate with Prof. Kathleen Cleaver, professor at Emory Law and first communications secretary of the Black Panther Party on the topic, "Resolved: Police Are Not Heroes." 

Prof. Cleaver will be giving an opening speech, followed by a Q&A session and speeches by members of the YPU and BSAY, and closing remarks.

Kathleen Cleaver is a Senior Lecturer at Emory Law focusing in both her scholarship and her activism on racial injustice in the United States legal system. The first Communications Secretary of the Black Panther Party, she has since served on the Georgia Supreme Court Commission on Racial and Ethnic Bias in the Courts. At Emory, Professor Cleaver specializes in civil rights history and U.S. law on citizenship and race, and has contributed essays to Critical Race Feminism, The Promise of Multiculturalism, and The Black Panther Party Reconsidered.
