Tracey D. Syphax is Pres. & CEO of Phax Group Construction & Design LLC. and Senior Managing Partner with Phax Group, LLC. Phax Group Construction & Design LLC. Is a construction company and Phax Group, LLC is a real estate development company owning and managing multiple properties throughout Mercer County, NJ.
As a previously incarcerated person, Mr. Syphax has spent his 19 yr. career in business as a strong advocate for ending mass incarceration by using proper re-entry tools and entrepreneurship
He is a former Co-Chairman of the Board for the Mayor’s Office of Employment & Training (MOET) in Trenton, NJ. Presently he is Co-Chairman of the Board of the African American Chamber of commerce of New Jersey. He also Co-Chairs the Trustee Board at Union Baptist Church. Mr. Syphax is a former board member of Capitol City Redevelopment Corporation nominated by Senator Shirley Turner and appointed by Governor Christie to oversee Millions of dollars in construction around the Capitol District. Mr. Syphax is the 2011 Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce Entrepreneur of the year, the 1st African American to receive this award in the Chambers 51 year history!

Mr. Syphax out of a unprecedented 900 Nominees throughout the Country is a 2014 White House “Champion of Change” Honoree for his diligent work in the Re-entry field and for being a strong advocate on behalf of our Returning Citizens. In addition one of his proudest programs, of which he is a Founding Board member and now Chairman of the Board, is the Minding Our Business (MOB) program which helps 6 & 7th grade students in the Trenton Public School system start and operate a business. Mr. Syphax is also Author of the award winning Memoir “From the Block to the Boardroom” detailing his life story.
Mr. Syphax has received many awards nationally and locally for his business success and his passion of giving back to his community, uplifting and encouraging the next generation of entrepreneurs. Mr. Syphax is the former host of a weekly radio and TV show titled “Violence Serves No Purpose” and “Trenton Talks” on WIMG 1300 AM and WZBN Channel 25. He has been featured in numerous publications, magazines & News outlets such as NJ BIZ, C-Span, The Network Journal, Black Enterprise, NJN News, CNN, Don Diva Magazine, Young Men’s Perspective magazine, The Source Magazine and the BBC News of London!
Mr. Syphax resides in Trenton’s West Ward with his wife of 29 years Margaret Syphax. He has a daughter Trachell, a son Marquis and two granddaughters Brooklyn and Sanaa.
