African American Wisdom Summit

Listen through Sunday [Audios Inside]
Hi Tom Ficklin , it’s Saturday!
I know it’s only been a couple days, but have you found a local acro-yoga studio near you?! I’m waiting…
As we close out another powerfully moving week, I’m still pinching myself :) I don’t think it was because of Valentine’s Day last Sunday that I felt incredible love this week… each of our speakers carried a message of hope and LOVE through their diverse stories, experiences and teachings.
So I invite you to share the love too, and invite a friend to listen with you this weekend (free through Sunday). Here’s a recap for you of this past week’s speakers:
Monday, Etoy Ridgnal, a leading social justice advocate, shared the most powerful tools for change… our children. She discussed ways to create a healing community for our youth in which they feel heard, loved and seen for who they are and grow up as the radiant, creative, intelligent, beings that they are.
Tuesday, Dr. Carolle Jean-Murat shared exactly how to tap into your innate healing abilities and restore balance to your mind, body and spirit. She showed us how the symptom is the tip of the iceberg and that the root cause must be tracked down and dealt with in order to heal. In this multi-faceted, riveting session, you’ll also discover how faith is a powerful tool for true healing.
Wednesday, Sonya Renee Taylor dove into a deep conversation about radical self-love and how it’s essential for breaking through the bonds of oppression. It’s actually the key to global justice work! You don’t want to miss this fiery session where you’ll discover “The Body is Not An Apology’s” definition of radical self love and strategies for bringing yourself closer to radical self love.
Thursday, Szmeralda Shanel shared how to take the focus off of “making art” and instead put it on how to make art your pathway to deep healing and profound spiritual connection... in your own life as well as in your community! She also revealed how creative expression is a starting point for problem solving — for you and our youth — and how to open up difficult dialogues through creative expression.

Friday, DJ Townsel, the “Rasta Yogi,” shared how your yoga practice can become a path for peace. He shared the keys to building trust, partnership and community through a form of partner yoga called acro-yoga, which blends acrobatics and yoga. Plus, pick up the natural benefits of yoga & how to heal your body and calm your emotions and your mind.
