Healthcare in Context Practice perspectives on population health and healthcare disparities from a Connecticut physician By M. Natalie Achong, MD, FACOG

Healthcare in Context: "Recent studies support that despite the steady improvements in the overall health of the United States across the medical, dental and mental health continuum, racial and ethnic underrepresented populations experience a lower quality of health services, are less likely to receive routine medical procedures and have higher rates of morbidity and mortality than non-minorities. Disparities in healthcare exist even when controlling for gender, age, comorbidities and socioeconomic status."
