"Salons at Lunch Racism in America January 13    Noon - 1 PM Harriet Beecher Stowe Center The Harriet Beecher Stowe Center presents Stowe Salons at Lunch: Racism as a follow up to The Connecticut Forum event on the same topic. The free event will be held January 13, Noon – 1 PM at the Stowe Center in collaboration with The Connecticut Forum. The event will feature video highlights from the December 3 Connecticut Forum which featured Morris Dees, civil rights advocate and co-founder of the Southern Poverty Law Center; Antonio Villaraigosa, former mayor of Los Angeles; Wes Moore, social justice advocate and author of The Other Wes Moore; and Jessica Williams, Daily Show correspondent, actress and comedian, in conversation with Michele Norris, NPR Host and Special Correspondent. Topics discussed at the Forum included institutional racism, white privilege, mass incarceration, and the Black Lives Matter movement. The Salon will continue the conversation to discuss ways to move conversation into action. Share your perspective and ideas for creating positive change in our city, state and nation.
