So many themes were discussed and remaining challenges posed.

Perhaps in short, the philosophical mantra " Black Lives Matter" means more than ever before."

The Yale Philosophy Department  hosted the Joyce Mitchell Cook Conference on Friday and Saturday, December 4th and 5th, 2015.  Dr. Cook was the first African American woman to earn a PhD in Philosophy in the US, which she earned at Yale.  The conference brough together an esteemed group of scholars to honor the life and work of Dr. Cook, including a keynote by Dr. George Yancy.
