Education and Social Justice in the 21st Century
This symposium commemorates the 120th anniversary of Charles Hamilton Houston's birth on September 3, 1895. The aim of this symposium is to consider the complex relationships between educational equity and the criminal justice system and their connection to education in America and its impact on our communities and schools. Accordingly, the symposium will integrate discussions about the consequences of law enforcement disparities, underperforming schools, and inequity in educational opportunities and its effect on America's future.
