New Haven Community Action Agency to hold health fair Sept. 12:

NEW HAVEN >> The Community Action Agency of New Haven and Healthy Start are partnering to bring a “Women’s Health, Family Fun & Fitness Day” to the community from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at CAANH, 419 Whalley Ave., according to a release.

The free event will include health information, food, entertainment, activities for children and an all day DJ, the release said. There will be adult and pediatric health screenings, flu shots and blood pressure readings, Walgreen pharmacists on site to answer questions, representatives from Cornell Scott Health, information on dental care for Husky participants and the Community Health Network CT with their interactive Fat Attack game, the release said. Also participating are: Clifford Beers, LAUNCH, City Seed, Liberty Community Services, United Way of Greater New Haven, the New Haven Health Department, Maternal and Child Health Division/ Environmental Health, Access Health CT, MotherstoBaby, MOMS Partnership and All Our Kin, the release said.

The event will be held rain or shine and lunch will be proved provided for the first 200 participants, the release said.
