Jim Paley and the Neighborhood Housing group does wonderful work in providing an opportunity for new home buyers. Let it be said that they do bare watching, some of the rehab work such as crumbling basements walls, carpentry work on the front porch sub-standard, or delivering soil for the backyard that is over 75% stony red soils, generally derived from igneous rock. They are usually poor growing soils, low in nutrients and humus and difficult to cultivate because of it′s low water holding capacity. Painting the house while it was raining, nor did they wait the required time for the house to dry after a rain. I told them the house would pop and peel. They ignored me and continued to paint the house. The house pop and peel as I had previously warned them. There were a few other errors with the house. Jim Paley and his staff were rude and uncooperative, until I got Henry Fernandez involved and an independent engineer who agree with my finding. What I am suggesting is to those who would heed my warning, watch attentively while the workers work, and make note of what you see as an error and bring to Jim's attention, he'll pass you off to someone else. But document it and keep it moving, don't let it stress you out. He has answer to city hall. They will not allow him to cut corner at your expense. Good Luck.
