The Listening Project

Dear friends of the Connecticut Health Foundation,

Thanks to your help, almost 97% of Connecticut residents are now enrolled in health care coverage. But our work isn’t over. Coverage is not measured by how many people have insurance, it’s measured by how well people are using it. Together, we must ensure that our communities have the tools and understanding to make the most of their coverage.

This month, we’re launching The Listening Project—a short series of in-person and social web-based events designed to inspire dialogue with community leaders, consumer advocates, policy makers, payers and providers about what being covered in Connecticut really means.

And we need your help to make this project a success.

Our first event is on Tuesday, July 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Wilson Library in New Haven (303 Washington Avenue). We will be co-sponsoring a listening session with  Christian Community Action to hear ideas and possible solutions to the challenges that Connecticut communities face in understanding their health insurance coverage.

As the leaders of our community, we ask that you share this event among your network and encourage them to attend. We also ask that you consider attending yourself as a listener or participant. We want to hear your thoughts on how we can work together to improve the health of our communities.

There will be a light dinner, as well as free parking and on-site child care. To RSVP, please call (203) 780-8335 or send an email to merryleaton@ccahelping.org.

If you can’t attend the event, you can follow the conversations around the Listening Project on Twitter by following the hashtag #Coverage2CareCT.

Thank you and we hope to see you there!
