The 2015 Brooklyn AFROPUNK Festival, whose lineup includes Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Kelis, Danny Brown, Suicidal Tendencies, Thundercat, GoldLink, Kaytranada, Curtis Harding and many more have announced additions to the lineup today that include Ms. Lauryn Hill, Death Grips, Gary Clark, Jr., Vintage Trouble, Kelela, Jessie Boykins III, SZA and Candiria. In advance of the fest, AFROPUNK will be throwing their first annual AFROPUNK FANCY DRESS BALL w/ Grace Jones, Cakes Da Killa & MikeQ and special guests to raise funds for their AFROPUNK Global Initiative: an alliance dedicated to moving the needle of progress closer to a holistic, democratic and enlightened representation of people of color within all facets of society with the goal to create unique programming that encourages diversity in media. The AFROPUNK FANCY DRESS BALL will take place August 21st at Commodore Barry Park.
Additionally, with a hugely successful inaugural edition of AFROPUNK Paris which included performances from Lianne La Havas, Patrice, Sandra Nkake, Willow and Jaden Smith, Keziah Jones, Lion Babe, and Leon Bridges, AFROPUNK is proud to announce the second edition to return to the Trianon in Paris, France on Saturday June 4th and Sunday June 5th of 2016. Early bird tickets will be available exclusively on afropunkfest.com/paris/ with the festival lineup to be revealed closer to the event.
