Town Hall: Justice, Civility, and Active Citizenship
This year’s Festival contains a constellation of Arts and Ideas events that address the pressing, interwoven themes of authority, surveillance, race, and citizenship in the U.S. We wanted to provide what seemed a necessary next step: a public forum in which our diverse audience community would not only pose the questions driving a discussion about active citizenship but also suggest potential responses. This community forum, the first of its kind in the Festival's history, will be moderated by Crystal Feimster, Associate Professor of History and African American Studies at Yale and organizer of this year’s Ferguson Teach-In at the university.
This event is part of A Day of Civic Action at the International Festival of Arts & Ideas -- please join us for all or part of this experience!
